About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Yoga for Athletes Yoga Instructor to design and lead specialized yoga sessions tailored to the needs of athletes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of human anatomy, and the physical and mental demands of various sports. This role requires creativity, adaptability, and excellent communication skills to effectively support athletes in improving their flexibility, strength, balance, and mental focus.

Requirements

  • Certification and Training:

    • Certified Yoga Instructor (RYT 200 or RYT 500) with a recognized yoga training program.


  • Experience:

    • Proven experience teaching yoga, preferably with a focus on athletic populations or sports teams.

    • Practical experience working with athletes, understanding their unique needs and physical demands.


  • Knowledge and Skills:

    • Deep understanding of human anatomy, and the specific

       physical demands of various sports.

    • Ability to design and deliver yoga sequences tailored to enhance athletic performance, prevent injuries, and aid in recovery.

    • Strong knowledge of techniques to improve flexibility, strength, balance, and mental focus.


    • Ability to adapt yoga practices to suit individual athlete's needs and varying levels of skills sets (beginner, intermediate and advanced) flexibility and strength.


  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

    • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey instructions and feedback to athletes.

    • Ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with athletes, coaches, and other fitness professionals.


  • Adaptability and Creativity:


    • Creative in developing engaging and sport-specific yoga sessions.


  • Physical Fitness:

    • High level of physical fitness to demonstrate poses and sequences accurately and safely.


  • Professionalism:

    • Strong sense of professionalism, reliability, and punctuality.

    • Commitment to continuing education and staying updated on the latest research and trends in yoga and sports science.

    • Reliable transportation to teach class at the facility.


These requirements ensure that the Yoga for Athletes Instructor is well-equipped to meet the unique needs of athletes and support their performance and well-being through specialized yoga practices.
